ABOUT US

The Makewild Markets (formerly the Moonlight Markets) began in 2023 after Texoma native, Kelsey Martinez wanted to see her own small business, JoyCo. Vintage see success. She knew there must be other local small business owners who wished to see the same thing in their own community. Before Moonlight Markets, Kelsey worked for many small businesses throughout the DFW region and worked several large scale events on their behalf. She sold products to thousands of shoppers and saw first hand the community that could be built around these events as well as the success they hold for small makers and businesses.

Fast forward to the Makewild Markets first year.. Throughout the Summer of 2023 The Makewild Markets hosted 20+ vendors, saw 200+ customers and has been hosted by 2 Event Space Sponsors so that the Markets could continue to grow! Kelsey believes that shopping local is essential to creating a thriving community in our small but growing region. Every dollar spent shopping locally with small businesses goes directly back into our communities. The taxes small local businesses pay go toward our streets, libraries, schools, parks, and more. The Makewild Markets strives to create a home for local artisans, a place to build their dream businesses, bring local shoppers quality, one-of-a-kind goods, and bring value to venues by creating fun and engaging community events.

Kelsey is born and raised in the Texoma region and lives with her husband, Josh and her two sons, Wilder and Milo in Grayson County. On top of running the Makewild Markets, she owns JoyCo. Vintage, an online gift shop that also attends the MM’s! She loves connecting with people, spending time with her family & a good coffee shop is always her first stop in any town. Stop by the JoyCo. booth when you attend the MM’s and say “Hi!”.
